We are looking for an IT Support Specialist

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing a wide range of end-user remote and in-person support for software/hardware requirements and requests, and technical assistance for a global workforce. The IT Support Specialist will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with a focus on first-call resolution.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

College diploma or university degree in Information Technology, computer science or a related discipline.

Preferred two (2) years of relevant experience in:  

  • As an IT Support Specialist or a similar role such as level 1 support service
  • Creating, maintaining and licensing user accounts with Microsoft Office 365 and Entra ID/ Azure Active Directory
  • Providing technical support to end-users via Teams, phone, email and in person
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and applications;
  • Documenting and tracking support requests and resolutions using a ticketing system;
  • Conducting training sessions for staff on new technologies and best practices
  • Managing information and administrative processes.
  • Managing LANs and associated IP devices
  • Installing and supporting audio and video communication equipment and systems.

 Competencies

  • Able to communicate orally and in writing in French and in English
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Clear, concise and effective communication ability.
  • Strong customer service work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to find new relevant digital tools, and to rapidly learn their use.
  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and innovative when problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and ensure the work effectively contributes to broader program and organizational goals.

Knowledge of:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac (OS environment)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
  • Familiar with network protocols, hardware, and software troubleshooting
  • PowerBI, Power Platform, Dynamics 365 CRM and Business Central (asset)
  • Microsoft Intune or other mobile device management platforms (asset)
  • DocuSign (asset)

Compensation: $68,593 to $83,964 (Program Staff II) – unionized position

Status:  Permanent full-time

Location: 1 Rideau Street, suite 701, Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 8S7

Working conditions:
