Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Academic, and serving as a member of the College’s senior leadership team the Director, Quesnel Campus & Community Engagement is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Quesnel campus with a strong focus on engagement with local communities. Community engagement contributes to labour market development and co-operative planning related to supporting the Academic Division regional service operations and providing intelligence for the planning and delivery of programs and student-centric services to support communities served by the campus. As an active collaborator with all deans, directors, and other administrators, the Director provides exceptional leadership and administration in support of a creative, vibrant, community-connected campus, ensuring strategic goals are met.

NATURE & SCOPE:

• The Director serves as a steward of the College, developing sustainable relationships with business, industry, and First Nation communities. In this capacity, the incumbent serves as a liaison to the Deans and academic leaders sharing knowledge and information about the needs of the community so that academic decisions can be made.

• The Director also acts as a voice for the community and campus and is accountable for sharing information and context that serves the best interest of the College and community. The Director supports college leaders in identifying operational and campus imperatives.

• The Director provides strategic leadership that supports the future growth of the campus. In collaboration with Deans, Directors, and other administrators, the Director will work cooperatively to ensure effective and relevant services and programs are provided to the campus and the area it serves.

• In collaboration with the Operations Manager, the Director provides leadership to operational staff in the delivery of student-centric services and ensures the smooth operation of the campus. This role will work collaboratively with leaders and managers in other college departments to provide consistent direction on work functions, processes, and standards. This will include supervising staff in a matrix reporting structure.

• You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of CNC learners.

• You will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
