Connaissances et compétences

With a degree in Human Resources, Business or a related area, a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) or Executive (CHRE) designation, and no fewer than 11 years of success in a senior-level human resources position, including experience within a unionized environment, you bring a thorough understanding of change management, labour and employment law, and collective agreements. This is complemented by advanced business acumen and the ability to work with diverse groups and individuals to resolve conflicts, develop and maintain internal and external relationships, and provide solution-based guidance.

Recognized as a strong human resources leader and a business partner who can align HR strategies with corporate goals, you also exhibit diplomacy, persuasive communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced, multi-campus environment. You also demonstrate strengths in planning and organizing, and can work collaboratively to develop and articulate a direction and vision for HR, motivate staff and establish a high-performance, accountable team, and influence others to actively consider alternatives for change in order to achieve set goals.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services, you will lead and leverage the strengths of a team of HR professionals with a sizable portfolio that includes Human Resources Services, the Centre for Professional and Organizational Development, and Occupational Health & Safety.  Working collaboratively with the College’s senior leadership team to support corporate initiatives aligned with the College’s strategic framework, you will ensure the delivery of critical HR business services including talent management, organizational development, recruitment, labour/employee relations, performance management, occupational health & safety, and workforce and human capital planning.  You will also support and enable individual and team success, ensuring leadership learning and development, and succession planning are key organizational priorities.

As Director of Human Resources, you will work collaboratively with College leaders and business partners to develop and institute creative organizational development best practices that will provide the foundation and capacity to achieve greater advances in organizational effectiveness. Along with ensuring that the College is compliant with all legislation related to human resources functions, you’ll contribute to effective College stewardship by providing risk assessment and advice to the senior management team on HR-related matters.  Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to create productive networks to achieve results, will be invaluable as you develop effective relationships between the College and internal and external stakeholders involved in key decision-making.
