Job Information

As the Instructor, Northern Leadership Development Program (NLDP) you will be responsible for the planning, organization, instruction, delivery and evaluation of educational programming for adults. You will be responsible for instructing courses related to the Northern Leadership Development Program, evaluating the program, liaising with the advisory committee and contract staff, and recommending changes/improvements as required. You may also be required to teach in other programs if your expertise fits the curriculum content, and will manage and maintain a learning environment which is conducive to providing the highest level of education possible within your area of specialization.

You may be scheduled in a number of ways depending on the delivery approach of the particular course and/or program (e.g. semester, block, distance delivery, evening). You will be Located in Yellowknife, however you may be required to teach courses or modules in community locations or other campuses from time to time as required by the design format of the particular program.

To be successful in this role you will typically need Master’s degree in education, organizational development, human resources, or related field, certification in leadership coaching or training, 3 years’ experience in a leadership role, and 2 years’ experience working with Aboriginal governments or Northern community governance structures.

A bona fide requirement of the job is the completion of six weeks of full-time coursework in adult education within the first two years of employment, and completion of a certificate in Adult Education within five years of hire.

Salary Information

The salary range for this position is from $53.80 per hour to $64.26 per hour (approximately $104,910 - $125,307.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
