This appointment will commence in August 2025 and will provide instruction and guidance to students through the development and delivery of courses focusing on agricultural technology and experiential learning with a focus on agronomy and global positioning systems as well as sustainability and/or leadership development.  In addition, as part of the workload, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in in applied research activities that align with the expertise required for the position and collaborate with scientists from our Applied Research department on multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver and continuously update curriculum that includes topics around existing and emerging technologies in the agriculture industry:
– Precision Farming and Global Positioning Essentials, introducing students to the tools and concepts that drive precision agriculture, including GPS and GIS technologies.
– Advanced Agronomy, focusing on advanced topics in crop management, predictive modeling, and the application of technology in optimizing crop production.
– Sustainable farm businesses and/or innovation leadership, focusing on integrating technology with sustainable agricultural practices and leadership development within the ag-tech context.
– Coordinate and supervise practicums, focusing on student placement in real-world agriculture technology environments.
• Engage in applied research with a focus on agricultural technologies, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

• Foster relationships with industry partners to enhance the educational experience, keep course content relevant and cutting-edge and identify relevant research priorities.

• Participate in academic and administrative committees as required.

Job Requirements
• A Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Technology, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience specific to agriculture and technology.

• Prior teaching experience or experience in an educational setting is highly desirable.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative course content and to conduct industry relevant research and extension activities.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills are essential.
