Position Summary

Continuing a tradition of excellence in continuous improvement, quality client services, transparent and consistent admission processes and the underpinning of effective conversion strategies, the incumbent is responsible for directing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of domestic admissions and international admissions processing. Working collaboratively towards a shared vision, the incumbent ensures movement towards goals and objectives align with the College’s Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) plans and strategically positions Admissions as an integral component of the Enrolment Services team, within the Student Experience and Success division.

Connaissances et compétences


  • A minimum of a four-year post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent education from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution, skills and experience at the point of hire into the position.
  • Minimum of 7 years related experience in a post-secondary environment with progressive responsibilities and accountabilities in an operations role combined with proven supervisory/leadership experience and the ability to effectively lead, manage, supervise, train and motivate.
  • Working knowledge of college and government financial assistance policies, admissions, registration, student records, policies and regulations. Practical knowledge of Ministry policies, procedures and guidelines on Apprenticeship.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others in a team environment.
  • High-level critical thinking and excellent analytical problem-solving skills to research, analyze large amounts of data for relevant issues, and interpret and clearly communicate complicated findings
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.

Tâches et responsabilités


  • Manages the Admissions unit within an integrated model, aligned with the College’s SEM plan, divisional budgets, targets and objectives, benchmark standards, and client expectations, by determining service priorities, models of delivery, admissions procedures and quality assurance processes.
  • Cultivates, within the Admissions team, a climate of communication and consistency and a strong sense of team and shared purpose; and beyond the team, a partnership approach with related units to ensure a highly efficient and seamless admissions process for all prospective students.
  • Creates a highly effective client service culture within the team that focuses on meeting time-sensitive deadlines and creating a positive admission experience for prospective students.
  • In partnership and consultation, leads in the preparation of an enrolment strategy and critical path in advance of each admission cycle designed to meet the overall and specific program enrolment targets.
  • Works collaboratively with college partners (including academic leaders, International Admissions, etc) to advise on appropriate admission practices, devise strategies to meet admission targets and support new academic priorities and initiatives.
  • Liaises with the Ontario College Application Centre (OCAS) and other related bodies as it pertains to admission processes, materials, information, data and directives.
  • Researches, designs and implements admission policies, operational procedures, applicant selection processes and related standards, to ensure sound, transparent and consistent operations.
  • Fosters a culture of review, evaluation, assessment and continual improvement for Admissions, by ensuring robust collection of admissions and client satisfaction data to inform target setting, new recruitment and admission initiatives, budget requests, policy development, service delivery and reporting requirements.
