Tâches et responsabilités

Reporting to the Director, Planning for Canada (PfC), the Manager, Online Global Team and Member Engagement, ensures effective and efficient management of PfC’s Online Global Team (OGT), consistent high-quality program wide online services and leveraging of CICan member expertise to enhance PfC services.

Planning for Canada (PfC), an initiative of Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), is designed to enhance immigrants’ readiness for economic and social integration. PfC pre-arrival services are delivered worldwide to prospective Economic Class (federal and provincial skilled workers) and Family Class immigrants and their dependents. Services include i) group information sessions, ii) individualized planning sessions, and iii) customized referrals to organizations in Canada. PfC services are provided in English in-person and online via teams located in India and the Philippines as well as by a virtual team, the Online Global Team (OGT), in both English and French.

The Planning for Canada team is geographically and culturally diverse, as such, the Manager, OGT and member engagement, must be adept in working effectively in a variety of operating contexts, notably in virtual/remote environments.

As a member of CICan’s management team, the incumbent is expected to contribute to strategic planning, priority-setting and policy discussions as well as to the achievement of goals and objectives set out in CICan’s Strategic Plan. As the ideal candidate, you are a skilled bilingual individual who embodies CICan’s member-service orientation and its core values of agility, integrity, and inspiring others. As a member of the management team, you apply critical thinking to complex problems, demonstrate strong planning and project management skills and understand business needs. The Manager, OGT and Member Engagement, is accountable for fulfilling performance objectives based on agreed-upon annual work plans with identified objectives and results.

Reporting to the Director, Planning for Canada, the Manager, OGT and Member Engagement, is responsible for:

A. Leadership of PfC’s Online Global Team (OGT)

  • Set parameters for the OGT operations;
  • Direct the work of part-time consultants working remotely in Canada and abroad, including one (1) client service coordinator and six (6) facilitators;
  • Ensure standardized, consistent, high-quality implementation of the PfC program for online clients, both in English and in French;
  • Work closely with the PfC management and CICan-based teams to contribute to PfC program services and practices;
  • Stay informed of relevant changes in the settlement sector, particularly within the pre-arrival context;

B. Expertise in online delivery of services for PfC

  • Lead the establishment of standards for PfC online services, including development of tools and training to support consistent, high quality services across all PfC operations (OGT, India and Philippines)

C. Lead development and implementation of a CICan member engagement strategy focused on immigrant integration

  • Develop and implement a CICan member engagement strategy in collaboration with other CICan teams;
  • Lead conceptualization and development of a Newcomer Guide for Post-Secondary Education;
  • Supervise and support work of a Senior Policy Officer; and,


Education and Experience

  • Graduate from a post-secondary institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum five years’ experience in program delivery/ project management, work planning, financial management, monitoring and evaluation and progress reporting. Ideally in a virtual and/or intercultural context.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in partnership building and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience managing individuals and teams
