Principal, Akerley Campus
We are looking for a senior leader to create a dynamic environment for the people who learn and work at NSCC’s Akerley Campus. You will need to be equally adept at inspiring people to do their best; community relations; fiscal management; human resources management; operational planning resulting in the delivery of excellent post-secondary education. Providing daily leadership to more than 869 full-time students and a staff group in excess of 154 will require outstanding communication and team-building skills. Fortunately, you have been honing these skills all your working life. This is a designated competition open only to members of the following communities: Aboriginal/Indigenous people; Members of racially visible groups, including Black/African Nova Scotians; Persons with disabilities and Persons of a minority sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression.
We are Nova Scotia Community College. Our mission is to help “Build Nova Scotia’s economy and quality of life through education and innovation.” We offer 130 advanced skill programs in five academic schools, serving the whole province through a network of 13 campuses and a vibrant eCampus. Our newest Principal must have ten years of relevant experience and have served recently in a senior leadership role within a large organization, preferably a post-secondary institution. You have a graduate degree and if you have experience working with diverse communities, it would be a great asset. You are a highly collaborative leader who builds and motivates teams to do amazing things. You can manage multiple projects and objectives, while building and realizing a vision for the Akerley Campus of NSCC. You have a passion for helping people achieve their dreams through adult education and life-long learning. And you are looking for the challenge of a lifetime.
