Applications are invited for the position of ­­­­­­­­­­­­Senior Director Global Education & Training in the Global Education & Training Division, located at the Niagara Corporate Business Centre, which is adjacent to the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.  This is a permanent position, however, internal secondments will be considered. Please indicate if you are interested in a secondment in your cover letter. This exciting senior role in the international division offers a competitive salary and benefits package, with a targeted hiring range $146,373 to $178,899.

Reporting to the Vice President, International, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and sustaining the College’s international partnerships, development projects, contract consultancy and offshore campuses and program development in key markets around the world.   The Senior Director collaborates with key members of the International Division, Academic, Student Services, Research and Corporate Services divisions in support of progressive Niagara College Global Strategy and manages the effective and efficient delivery of secured international projects to meet required performance outcomes and contracted deliverables.

Connaissances et compétences

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience, in which at least 7 years of relevant senior management experience
  • PMI (project management) certification an asset
  • Proven track record in developing and conducting international business for a college/university or similar educational organization
  • Experience in planning, development and management of international education or training projects including budgetary responsibility
  • Experience and expertise in teaching, developing curricula and/or academic administration
  • Significant experience in leading diverse teams with a strong focus on people, including cross-cultural teams
  • Experience living and working in different and diverse cultures is seen as an asset
  • Familiarity with the strategies of international education and the economic and political impact of key market areas
  • Strong human resources and financial management experience and acumen
  • Ability to speak and write in a second language is an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people; effectively use consultative and facilitation skills to gain consensus to ideas and projects
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills especially in situations requiring cultural sensitivity
  • Negotiation skills, intercultural skills and/or diversity training
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, capacity to work effectively under pressure and while traveling abroad for extended periods of time

Tâches et responsabilités

  • Works with the International leadership team to develop and launch ongoing business development plans for the College’s international partnerships, education, training and consulting services
  • Prospecting, assessing, and developing credible global business opportunities for Niagara College including business advisory services, capacity/capability building, campus/training centre operations, contract training, out-of-region/offshore program delivery, and technical assistance.
  • Manages, in collaboration with the Vice-President, International, strategic aspects of current projects undertaken by the college in international markets as part of its offshore contracts, campuses and education delivery practice
  • Prepares unsolicited proposals for industry or government organizations for funding to promote or deliver innovative programs and services which the College has created to meet specific needs in international markets
  • Negotiates the terms and conditions of contracts and partnership agreements with overseas partners and with any other partners including employers, other Canadian educational institutions or governmental agencies within parameters set by the College
  • Oversees a portfolio of project and program management services and/or field projects in accordance with internally developed and approved project management best practice for international education
  • Responsible for the leadership of the International Division’s compliance and reporting department, which leads the ongoing due diligence and reporting requirements for all international. This area also supports areas of international for ongoing reviews and process improvements that include both system and structural reviews
  • Responsible for all aspects of staffing through effective recruitment, selection, performance management and evaluation, professional development and training, discipline, etc.
  • As a senior member of the international leadership team, leads the execution of the college’s Global Strategy to insures both long- and short-term objectives are met
  • Oversees the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to offshore initiatives

Éducation

  • Master’s degree in business, Public Administration, Education, Adult Education, Law or other relevant field of study such as Engineer with Adult Education/Training
