Located in the heart of the nation’s capital, Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) is the voice of Canada’s publicly supported colleges, institutes, cégeps and polytechnics, and an international leader in education for employment in over 25 countries. CICan’s members add over $190B to Canada’s economy annually and contribute to inclusive economic growth by working with industry and community partners to offer more than 10,000 programs to learners in urban, rural, remote, and northern communities.

CICan is an innovative, responsive and entrepreneurial learning organization that values diversity, accountability and transparency and supports the ongoing development of the country’s college and institute system and its people.

ImpAct Partnership Services is a new organization-wide unit, inspired by the Strategic Plan, 2019-2024, to facilitate members’ collaboration in creating and strengthening social infrastructure (foundational services and structures that support the quality of life of a nation, region, city or neighbourhood) in Canada and to create new partnerships with external stakeholders from the public, private and not-for-profit sector to further the impact of the college and institute sector on Canada’s commitment to the UN 2030 Agenda

The overall aims of Impact Partnerships are to:

1. Amplify and scale up member institutions’ contributions to social infrastructure, such as social and economic inclusion and ecological sustainability.

2. Encourage collaboration among members and build deep and sustainable new relationships with external stakeholders, in particular with the private sector, to scale up the impact of cross-institutional collaboration.

CICan ImpAct will maximise student engagement and foster internal collaboration to maximize domestic and international networks, expertise and experience. In this way we can contribute more meaningfully to the UN 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
