Duties: Red River College (RRC) is Manitoba’s largest institute of applied learning. RRC’s Centre for Learning and Program Excellence (CLPE) has recently adopted an Educational Development (ED) model to support RRC’s academic schools. The ED role at RRC blends elements of program development, instructor development, and instructional design consultation. The CLPE is looking for an experienced Educational Developer to supervise the newly formed team.
Reporting to the Manager of Learning Technologies and Educational Development, the successful candidate will provide experience and expertise in program development and renewal, course design, and teaching and learning best practices. They will guide their team and the College’s programs towards the development of innovative program structures, outcomes, and assessments that enhance our students’ learning experiences. They will support the exploration and development of evidence-based teaching methods, champion experimentation and innovative practices, and lead the implementation of educational development strategies that respond to teaching and learning challenges. They will support the development of instructors, courses, programs, and physical and online learning environments. They will have extensive experience in managing relationships, will demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, project management and decision-making skills, and will supervise and oversee the daily operations of the 7 member Educational Development team.

Tâches et responsabilités

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in the field of Curriculum & Instruction, Curriculum Development, Education, or a related subject. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Several years’ experience in supporting program development in post-secondary institutions, including supporting faculty in developing, revising, and adapting curricula at the post-secondary level
  • Experience facilitating workshops and consultations with diverse groups, including industry stakeholders, instructors, College leadership, and students
  • Demonstrated ability to engage colleagues and academic partners in meaningful, collaborative dialogue as a team leader and team member
  • Expertise with the pedagogy/androgogy of applied education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management and the ability to manage multiple projects and schedules in an academic setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication skills

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with practicing change management methodologies
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level in varied formats of delivery (online, blended, face to face)
    Certification in DACUM Levels 1 and/or 2
  • Supervisory experience in a diverse work environment
CONDTIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary: $62,924 - 86,092 per annum
