St. Lawrence College is seeking a new Vice President, International Education.  Reporting to the President and CEO, and as a member of the College Executive Team (CET), the Vice-President of International Education will be accountable for providing strategic and operational leadership to a large, multi-faceted portfolio and team in International Education and development which entails international student recruitment and support, international partnerships, student and staff exchanges, as well as the oversight and delivery of St. Lawrence College programs through various partner institutions to international students in Canada as well as in China currently.


Connaissances et compétences

The successful candidate will possess requisite educational qualifications (a Master’s degree is preferred), in addition to over 15 years of relevant experience in a senior level Dean/Director (or equivalent) role within a college, university, school board or private college in Canada, with responsibility for a complex portfolio of programs/functional areas pertaining to international education and students.  Extensive knowledge and understanding of key international markets, and international enrolment management methodology, along with the ability to successfully navigate and manage issues related to social, cultural, political and economic diversity are important.  The candidate will be a proven, strategic and entrepreneurial leader and manager, with the ability to identify, analyse and plan for new opportunities on behalf of the College while mitigating any associated risks.  The chosen candidate will work and collaborate with key internal and external partners to ensure the success and well-being for all students.  Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation, conflict resolution, problem-solving skills, along with advanced intercultural competency and fluency is essential.  As a leader, the new VP will embrace and model the College’s core values of Students First, Teamwork, Innovation, Integrity and Belonging.

Tâches et responsabilités

Specifically, the VP International Education will lead:  the development and implementation of SLC’s International Strategy and Plan; the development of foreign markets, strategic alliances and new revenue generating opportunities and partnerships to support SLC’s strategic mandate and plan; international student recruitment, admissions, mobility and on-campus support; SLC’s “Study Abroad” programs for staff and students.  The VP will support a coordinated approach to academic planning and programming to ensure high quality education and services, as well as the cultural, social and general well-being of all international students studying in Canada and abroad.  The VP will ensure quality and oversight of all SLC programs delivered at affiliate institutions in Canada and abroad, as well as for ESL/EAP programs provided on the main campus.  The VP International Education will be an important source of international market intelligence to College leadership across the institution, and will represent SLC at a variety of national and international organizations, agencies and conferences as required.
