Principal, Ivany Campus

We are looking for a senior leader to create a dynamic environment for the people who learn and work at NSCC’s Ivany Campus. You will need to be equally adept at inspiring people to do their best; community relations; fiscal management; human resources management; operational planning resulting in the delivery of excellent post-secondary education steeped in equity and belonging. Providing daily leadership to more than 2,400 full-time students and a diverse staff group in excess of 340 will require outstanding communication and team-building skills. Fortunately, you have been honing these skills all your working life.

Located on the Dartmouth waterfront, Ivany Campus offers an inspiring learning environment with panoramic views of Halifax Harbour and a strong reputation for academic excellence, applied learning and industry collaboration. Designed with sustainability and innovation at its core, Ivany Campus is home to state-of-the-art teaching, research and applied learning spaces, including the Centre for the Built Environment, the Design and Innovation Centre, and specialized labs supporting trades, technology, health, media and aviation programs. The campus also features a student-run TV and radio news station, one of the premier recording studios east of Montreal, and on-campus housing with 200-beds overlooking the harbour.

Our newest Principal must have ten (10) years of relevant experience and have served recently in a senior leadership role within a large organization, preferably a post-secondary institution. You have a graduate degree and experience working with diverse communities, is a key asset. You are a highly collaborative leader who builds and motivates teams to do amazing things. You can manage multiple projects and objectives, while building and realizing a vision for the Ivany Campus of NSCC. You have a passion for helping people achieve their dreams through adult education and life-long learning. And you are looking for the challenge of a lifetime.
