Full-Time Administration

$86,000 per annum - 37.50 hours/week

DEADLINE:  FRIDAY, APRIL 16, 2021 – 12:00 P.M.

Reporting to the Director, Academic Centre of Excellence, and to support the Vice President Academic in developing a robust Academic Effectiveness and Quality Management (AEQM) Framework, the incumbent will be responsible for administering key activities that are critical to academic quality.

The Officer will coordinate and facilitate the planning phase of the Quality Management Cycle leading to the development of a three-year assessment schedule (action plan) with quality controls (policies, procedures, standards, and processes) and quality assurance performance indicators (qualitative and quantitative) to evaluate Academic Effectiveness as it relates to the three core constituents of teaching and learning (academic programing, learner, and faculty/staff).

Knowledge and Skills

  • Four (4) year Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences or Humanities, Statistics, Research Methods or a related field
  • Master’s Degree in Data Sciences with courses in strategic planning, performance measurement, qualitative/quantitative research methodology and policy analysis preferred.
  • Five (5) years in a related postsecondary role, with progressively more responsibility among a multidisciplinary team where politically sensitive and potentially confidential information/data is routinely accessed
  • Ability to function in a strategic capacity and have strong analytical skills
  • Extensive project management training and/or experience
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, human relations, problem-solving and communication skills
  • High level of technical writing skills and computer skills for Microsoft O365 products such as Word and Access, exceptional Excel skills required
  • Experience with College sector Program Review, Faculty Evaluations, Strategic Enrolment Management and survey administration
  • Knowledge of multiple data monitoring and knowledge transfer systems/processes and related reporting tools/technologies
  • Strong client focus with an awareness of and sensitivity to diversity

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of the assessment schedule and report on progress
  • Actively participate in the data collection, analysis, evaluation and reporting as well as track the implementation of any identified corrective actions
  • Promote the AEQM Framework internally/externally through presentations, seminars, meetings and publications
  • Lead the publication and updates of the AEQM Manual
  • Lead the planning phase of the Quality Management Cycle through arranging workshops and brainstorming sessions which are critical to the development of a three-year assessment schedule (action plan)
  • Work closely with the concerned internal/external stakeholders to ensure compliance with the quality control and assurance processes
  • Prepare, review and report the findings of data analysis and evaluation based on set process/approach and target/benchmark
  • Identify trends, risks, decision drivers, opportunities and issues that can influence the academic strategy and/or business plans
  • Supervise the work of others as requested to ensure effective deployment of the AEQM Framework
  • Generate, recommend and deploy interactive dashboards, tools and/or software to enhance data collection, analysis, evaluation and reporting
  • Manage and/or participate in projects that support quality management initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of the College data

Education
