Knowledge and Skills
Reporting to the Dean, Academic and Vocational Programs, the Associate Dean will be an accomplished academic educator and administrator possessing a Master’s in a relevant discipline, with leadership experience gained in a union environment. Among other responsibilities, the Associate Dean will effectively manage the wide breath of Academic and Vocational programming across multiple campuses including the unit’s day-to-day operations, identify new program development opportunities, promote excellence in teaching and pedagogy, and engage with and provide mentorship to faculty, staff, and students. In partnership with the Dean, they will also participate in strategic and academic planning and in the development of departmental budgets.
The Associate Dean will provide innovative and collegial leadership and possess a high level of commitment to, and passion for excellence in teaching, pedagogy, and interprofessional education. They will bring a proven track record of success in conceptualizing, developing and operationalizing projects and initiatives, a keen attention to detail, and sound decision-making abilities. The successful candidate will bring significant experience that illustrates their commitment to Indigeneity, diversity, and inclusion. They will be an excellent communicator, collaborator, and motivator, and a person of unassailable integrity and character.
