Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Academic (SVPA), the Associate Vice President, Applied Learning and Innovation (AVP-ALI) will provide senior leadership to a unit comprised of the Cooperative Education department, Student Employment Services, the Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship department. The AVP-ALI serves as a principal participant in authoring the strategic and operational plans of the AVP-ALI unit. The incumbent is responsible for elevating the critical importance of experiential learning both within the College and with our external stakeholders. and providing strong support for these activities. This position has significant responsibility for contributing to the College's achievement of the goals within the College’s Strategic Plan.
Knowledge and Skills
Minimum of thirteen (13) years of experience:
Administration – Full range;
Education – Full range – teaching, evaluation and assessment, presentation skills, adult education and pedagogical knowledge, human relations, problem solving, negotiating skills, et al;
Education – Specific – Demonstrated skills in the development of work integrated learning activities in a postsecondary setting and their incorporation into approved curricula;
Demonstrated skills in management of applied research activities;
Strong and demonstrated business acumen and entrepreneurial skills;
Skills in liaising with business and industry leaders;
Cross-cultural negotiation skills;
Demonstrated leadership and teambuilding skills.
