Duties: The Chair provides leadership, direction and day to day management for the department’s Hospitality and Tourism Management, Culinary Arts, Professional Baking and Apprentices programs. The Chair also oversees the delivery of in the context of contracts, partnerships and applied research.

The Chair develops and implements strategic and operational plans for the school and commercial outlets. They lead change and provide leadership in the continuous improvement of program and product quality, innovation and industry currency, manages fiscal resources and oversees the co-operative education component.

The Chair ensures the students receive the advice and support necessary for success and develops and nurtures effective links with industry, the community and other College departments. The Chair is responsible for the overall success of the department as measured by students and industry satisfaction, student success and financial performance."

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Post-secondary degree in a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

- Significant experience in culinary or hospitality management

- Experience teaching or managing in a post-secondary environment

- Experience speaking to and leading conversations with large groups

- Demonstrated experience as a self-aware, empathetic and adaptable leader

- Experience using conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes

- Experience in the planning and management of multiple budgets and cost centres

- Excellent written communication skills

- Excellent verbal communications skills

- Significant experience leading individuals through change

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs with multiple stakeholders

- Significant and recent experience with employee recruitment and human resource management

- Abililty to create and maintain positive networks and work with industry

- Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

- Commitment to lifelong learning

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience reviewing, evaluating and/or developing academic programs

- Active network of contacts within the community

- Certificate in Adult Education and/or completion of the Chair's Academy program

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends

Salary: $86,244 - $112,136 per annum
