Qualifications:

• Advance Care Paramedic, preferred;
• Primary Care Paramedic with related education and experience may be considered;
• Eligibility for registration with the College of Paramedics of Alberta;
• 5-year registration with the appropriate regulatory body with a minimum 2-year clinical instructor experience;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills;
• Clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector prior to commencement is required;
• Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License required;
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
• Degree in education considered an asset, as well as quality assurance, curriculum, and education accreditation experience.

Job Description

Title: Coordinator, Allied Health Programs

Department:
Learner Services

Major Job Function:
This position primarily involves coordination of all the Allied Health programs. The incumbent assumes responsibility for the following:
• Facilitating department communications and working as a member of the team
• Communicating and advocating for staff and faculty needs and concerns
• Fostering teaching excellence through mentoring and support of programs, staff and faculty
• Co-coordinating program clinical activities
• Facilitate the performance management of students

Duties and Responsibilities:
Co-ordinate on and off-site activities.
• co-ordinate program clinical schedules and assist with general program scheduling
• organize wage and sessional instructor orientation and support
• provide guidance to college administrative support staff
• ensure course evaluations are disseminated
• assist with the applications, withdrawals and admissions process
• ensure that schedules and deadlines are followed
• maintain faculty contact list
• prepare internal college documents and submit reports as requested
• participate in discussions on priorities for budget, personnel, equipment, supplies and resources
• contribute to the Master Program Plan development
• participate in discussions on curriculum review
• participate in accreditation activities
• Other duties as assigned (eg. Instruction, clinical labs, certification courses and other instructional needs)

Contribute to College.
• attend and participate in regular staff meetings, NLC general meetings, and other scheduled meetings as requested, e.g. HSPnet, Provincial Committees.
