Knowledge and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive management/leadership experience in business or public sector settings and/or a post-secondary academic environment
- Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level
- A proven track record as an innovator and entrepreneur and exhibit a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Proven capacity to build productive working relationships with partners from business, government and educational sectors in Canada and international settings
- Outstanding leadership skills to work collaboratively with faculty and others within the college
- Excellent administrative skills
Preferred candidates may also possess:
- A PhD in a relevant subject area
- Administrative leadership experience in the Ontario College system
- Experience managing within a unionized environment
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President, Academic & Learner Services, the Dean will be responsible for providing inspiring academic and administrative leadership to the Division, as well as acting as a progressive catalyst for effective collaborations with other college academic and service areas. You will ensure that all courses/programs offered within the Division meet or exceed established internal and external standards. In this role you will lead this Divisional teaching, learning and service processes and ensure that these continue to support student success through continued dynamic growth and portfolio diversification which appeals to a variety of learners. As part of the leadership team, you will contribute to the overall academic and fiscal well-being of the College.
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a relevant leadership area.
 Relevant areas are: MBA, M.Ed, MA Leadership. Only master’s degees that are specifically scientifically research based, or Liberal arts
