Okanagan College has delivered post-secondary programming in the Okanagan, Shuswap and Similkameen regions since 1963. The College serves over 20,000 students annually with a broad array of more than 120 programs across four campuses and is the second largest trades training institute in BC.

Okanagan College is a significant component of the regional economy with an annual operating budget of over $120m and more the $200m in capital development planned over the next 15 years. The College has built all recent capital projects using sustainability and energy conservation principles including the Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence and Daycare Centre in Penticton, and the Trades Buildings in Kelowna and Vernon. Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President Employee & Corporate Services, the Director, Facilities & Business Services (“the Director”) is responsible for providing leadership and vision for facility planning and operations (land, buildings and infrastructure), including assisting in the development of all campus master plans, assisting with the design and providing oversight on the construction of capital projects, and managing the ongoing operation and maintenance of all physical facilities of Okanagan College. The Director is also responsible for providing leadership and vision for all business services including: the management of occupational health & safety, emergency management and security services; ancillary operations (bookstores, student housing, printing and copying services, parking, photo identification, cafeteria services); procurement services (purchasing, central receiving, campus mail, fleet vehicles); contracts and risk management services; contracted food and vending services; and daycare operations.

Education and Experience:

Completion of a four year university degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent.

8-10 years of experience in business or risk management or facilities and construction management at a senior level.

Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to provide strategic leadership and vision in a complex, multi-site, unionized organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to establish, and sustain relationships and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to negotiate and manage complex projects.
- Ability to define and implement operational change and to effectively manage impacts.
- Ability to implement directives, provide operational oversight and manage staff.
- Demonstrated effective and positive management style for people and corporate cultures.
