Northern College is seeking an outstanding senior leader whose insight and commitment will have a profound effect on the future shape and direction of learning and service at the College. Reporting directly to the President, and as a member of the senior management team, the Director of Marketing, Communications and External Relations leads the development and execution of integrated strategies for this centralized department at Northern College. The Director is a hands-on marketing professional who creates and implements strategic plans that are aligned with the organization’s vision, mission, goals and objectives in support of recruitment, fundraising and corporate purposes.
The Director leads the department, with responsibility for the planning, coordination, integration, operation and management of the strategic marketing and communication plans for Northern College, effectively communicating institutional mission and ensuring overall continuity of institutional brand consistency and image. You will be adept at leading a team towards objectives while actively participating in the implementation of executables.
In addition to relevant academic qualifications and several years of directly applicable experience, the successful candidate will bring a strong record of achievement in leadership and a proven ability to encourage innovation and collaboration within a complex organization.
Northern College serves the postsecondary education needs of over 1,700 full-time postsecondary students, with an additional 700 students studying at partner institutions in China, and 6,700 part-time and continuing education students in the Cochrane and Timiskaming Districts of Northeastern Ontario. Its catchment area spans 65 communities, 18 of which are First Nations. The college has four campuses located in: Haileybury, Kirkland Lake, Moosonee and Timmins and seven Learning Centers throughout its service region.
