Position Summary
Centennial College seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking Director, Systems, Records, and Scheduling to lead and innovate our technology and systems management efforts. This role is central to transforming how we utilize technology to improve student experiences, enhance data management, and streamline academic scheduling and records.
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President (AVP), Enrolment Services & Registrar, the Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight for key operational units, including ES-Systems, Student Records, and Scheduling. The successful candidate will be an early adopter with a passion for technology-driven improvement and a deep understanding of IT strategy to meet organizational goals.
Knowledge and Skills
Qualifications/Experience
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Nine (9) years progressive IT leadership experience with a track record of driving technological innovation and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated experience in managing student information systems is required.
- Records management and scheduling operations experience is considered an asset.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering positive working relationships and employee engagement.
- Sound project management skills, capable of handling multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Political sensitivity and proven superior consultative, relationship building and management skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to create inclusive and supportive environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership (40%)
- Contribute to and influence the vision, goals, and strategic direction of the division, ensuring alignment with the College’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Translate strategic priorities into operational actions and guide the Systems, Records, and Scheduling units in achieving these objectives.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of integrated strategies and operational targets.
- Serve as a member of the Enrolment Services leadership team, providing insight and direction on operational and strategic matters.
- Produce and manage project plans, performance metrics, and progress reports to support strategic initiatives and targets.
Systems, Records, and Scheduling Management (40%)
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the student experience through improved scheduling, records management, and system integration.
- Lead the development and execution of service excellence initiatives to ensure high standards of quality and effectiveness.
- Manage and improve student records processes, including graduation audits, curriculum maintenance, and performance reporting.
- Champion the development and implementation of Student Information Systems (SIS), CRM, and other operational systems.
- Ensure compliance with college policies and maintain operational integrity and consistency.
Human Resources, Engagement, and Staff Development (20%)
- Act as a key resource to the AVP Enrolment Services & Registrar, including representing the Registrar in their absence.
- Promote professional development, cross-training, and staff engagement within the Systems, Records, and Scheduling teams.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, setting expectations and providing guidance to ensure staff development and high performance.
- Utilize feedback and assessment tools to improve service delivery and address service gaps.
Education
Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
