Nestled in the beautiful Fraser Valley just east of Vancouver, British Columbia, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a fully accredited, public university offering 100 programs spanning master's and bachelor's degrees, diplomas, certificates, apprenticeship and trades training, and continuing studies. Over 1,600 faculty members, staff and administrators support 15,000 students at locations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Hope and Agassiz, British Columbia, as well as Chandigarh, India.

Reporting the Associate Vice President, Human Resources, the Director, Total Compensation and Systems provides strategic direction to the delivery of a wide range of total compensation programs. The Director also acts as a strategic advisor regarding total compensation matters and provides leadership related to HR systems, including providing oversight related to system automation, establishment of data standards and systems projects.

The successful candidate will bring leadership experience at progressive levels of responsibility in human resources, in a large, complex, multi-union environment. The candidate will have considerable experience leading HR systems implementation, as well as leadership experience in implementing quality improvement, change management, and optimizing HR business processes. They will also have considerable experience managing total rewards in a multi-union environment. Ideally, they will possess a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information technology or relevant field. Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation would be an asset. They will have a superior ability to make sound decisions by exercising judgment, diplomacy, tact and discretion in a high-volume environment, making decisions with the employees in mind. The successful candidate welcomes, generates, and implements new ideas and solutions that help to achieve an organization’s strategic goals and energizes people around the vision, keeping the bigger picture in mind.

This role is based full time at UFV’s main campus location in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
