Title: Institutional Research Administrator
Department: Vice President Academic and Learner Services
Major Job Function:
- Enrollment Analysis and Reporting
- Collection, Analysis, and Forecasting of Strategic Enrollment Management data
- Program related Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Student Feedback Survey development and implementation
- Research Ethics Committee oversight
- Survey software training and support
- Miscellaneous research
- Internal and external committee work
- Ensure data integrity and accurate data fields
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Excel including the use of pivot tables
- Ability to utilize other statistical software packages including SPSS
- Excellent analytical, statistical analysis and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of post-secondary educational environments
- Familiar with data bases (e.g. LiteCast)
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Practice strong organizational skills, exercise attention to detail, use discretion and sound judgment
- Familiar with e-survey research and software as well as phone survey research
- Organize, analyze, and present data and information in a meaningful way
- Knowledge of research ethics
- Knowledge of applied research in post-secondary educational environments
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of constituents
- Ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing
Duties and Responsibilities
- Internal and external reporting
- Enrollment reporting for the business plan and government requirements
- Collection, Analysis, and Forecasting of Strategic Enrollment Management data
- Program and campus report cards
- Program Cost per Full Load Equivalent (FLE) and Cost Centre expenditure per FLE
- Account expenditure per FLE
- Revenue and expenditure analysis by program
- Student Employment Survey (Annual)
- Program and college Satisfaction Survey (Annual); Graduate Outcome Survey (Bi-annual); Student Demographic Survey (Bi-annual)
- Chair Research Ethics Committee; participate in research application reviews; develop and maintain procedures governing research ethics
- Assist programs to conduct course and instructor evaluations; train and support programs to utilize the survey software
- Demographic and economic research
- Sit as a member of the Applications and Enrollment Steering Committee (Innovation & Advanced Education
- Participate on the provincial Institutional Researcher Committee
- Serve on LEARN consortium
Education
- Four-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Several years’ experience or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Willingness to provide a police reference check.
