Duties: The Centre for Learning and Program Excellence (CLPE) at Red River College is looking for Instructional Designers to join our team. Successful candidates will support the development of blended and online courses and educational resources for applied academic programming at RRC. Duties may include developing individual courses with Subject Matter Experts, providing consultation to teams of instructors engaged in the development of new courses, and the deployment of new instructional practices resulting from program renewal processes. The position will apply modern learning theory and instructional design principles to identify appropriate instructional strategies towards building engaging courses and learning content. Incumbents will develop expertise in Red River College’s learning management system (Brightspace by D2L) to provide guidance to faculty in using the platform and to develop and deliver online course content. Other responsibilities include consultation and supporting faculty development in instructional design, learning strategies, assessment and evaluation, micro-credential development, and learning technologies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-graduate education in the field of Education, Instructional Design, or a related subject. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Substantial experience in course development and design in an online or blended learning environment
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and its application
- Experience with the use of technology in online or blended learning
- Experience working effectively with diverse teams with minimal supervision
- Excellent self-direction and time management skills with the demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
- Exceptional verbal communication skills

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using D2L’s Brightspace Learning Management System
- Experience using content authoring tools such as Articulate, Captivate, iSpring etc.
- Experience in basic usage of HTML and CSS
- Education and experience in project management
- Bachelor of Education
CONDTIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends

Salary: $57,780 - $79,057 per annum
