Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Provost and Vice President, Academic is accountable for the overall direction of academic programs at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. He/she leads a team committed to the development of programming initiatives that are responsive to labour market demands and challenge students to develop critical academic, social-emotional and workforce skills in the 21st century. As an integral member of the Senior Management Council, the Provost and Vice President, Academic is instrumental in the decision-making processes related to institutional direction, policy and process development. He/she is a creator, an innovator and a driver of continuous improvement, growth and change across the institution.


The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in education, educational leadership or a related field of study with a preference for a PhD or working towards a PhD and a minimum of 10 years of progressive senior-level leadership experience. Future-oriented and focused on learning-centric innovation and disruption within the digital age, the Provost and Vice President, Academic will have demonstrated success in leading a large and diverse range of academic functions within a post-secondary education environment. Exceptional leadership skills, with a strong background in work-integrated, industry-focused and industry-driven learning will be critical to success in this role.
