SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES CLINICAL MENTOR

PROBATIONARY FACULTY POSITION

COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA - PRINCE GEORGE CAMPUS

REFERENCE NUMBER:  19-053FP

The School of Health Sciences at the College of New Caledonia (CNC) are looking for a full time probationary faculty position.  The School of Health Sciences Clinical Mentor will oversee the development of mentorship programs and practicum placements for each of the program areas in the school.  This is an opportunity to be involved with developing educational opportunities for the Health Care professionals of the future.

Knowledge and Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold a designation and membership or eligibility for membership in a professional association which is part of the School’s teaching programs, which are: Nursing, Medical Radiography Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Practical Nursing, Health Care Assistant and Sonography.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the professional practice; candidates enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree may be considered; Preference will be given to a Master’s degree in a related field of study such as Education, Health Sciences.
  • BC Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or similar courses. Candidates enrolled in the PIDP will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent teaching experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of recent clinical practice in one of the designations in the School of Health Sciences.
  • Experience and equivalencies will be considered.
  • Diversity in employment experience.
  • Computer literacy including use of electronic learning platforms.
  • Knowledge of simulation education in the School of Health Sciences.
  • Knowledge of the HSP net system used for clinical placements.
  • A class 5 driver’s license.
  • The ability to travel within the region, throughout the academic year.
