Knowledge and Skills
Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
- Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles;
- Knowledge of GPRC courses and current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g., videoconferencing, Moodle) are desired;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;

Duties and Responsibilities
The Arts and Education Department requires a Sociology Instructor to teach undergraduate level courses in Introductory Sociology and as many of the following areas as possible: Social Problems, Deviance and Conformity, Sociology of Gender and Sexuality, Sociology of the Family, Globalization, Sociological Theories and Methodologies, and other current areas that might be of interest to students at GPRC. This full-time sessional position will commence August 15, 2019 to April 30, 2020.
A PhD in Sociology is required. Evidence of successful instruction of undergraduate courses in Sociology is also required. Interest in and willingness to engage in sociological research is an asset.
