The Opportunity: Vice President, External Development

Reporting to the President and as a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice-President has overall responsibility for the development, implementation, review and renewal of the College’s strategic plan. In addition to providing leadership in strategic planning, the Vice-President is also responsible for oversight of activities, operations and initiatives to achieve financial sustainability. The Vice-President is responsible for operations in six key areas: International Education, International Programs, Continuing Studies, Institutional Research, Communications and Marketing and, College Advancement (including Langara College Foundation).

Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A Master’s degree in business or a related discipline;
  • Minimum if ten (10) years of relevant experience in a leadership capacity, preferably from a broad public sector environment; post-secondary experience is an asset (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered);
  • Proven ability to plan and achieve net revenue targets in non-traditional education markets;
  • Excellent consensus building and leadership skills.
