Duties and Responsibilities

The Student Experience Division is committed to enabling student success by ensuring that there is alignment and seamlessness between classroom experiences and the supports necessary to ensure student success. Reporting to the President and a member of the College’s Executive Team, the Vice President will steward a comprehensive range of supports with the mandate to enrich students’ potential for success and contribute to an exceptional overall experience for the student. He or she will build on the college’s existing Student Experience portfolio to create a robust, accessible program that meets students where they are. Camosun is dedicated to providing strong programs, supporting students as they complete their educational journey. As such, the Vice President will work closely and immediately with the Vice President, Education, to reflect an integrated approach to the student experience. The results are student experiences that reflect the entire educational journey and that inspire enduring student success for healthy communities, a robust economy and engaged citizens.

As the ideal candidate, you are a visionary leader who has built their career supporting a vibrant and future-oriented student experience department based on best practice and evidence. You are an approachable and relationship-oriented professional who uses a collaborative approach in the development of student experience policies, programs and strategic plans, and who ensures the department embodies the institution’s core values in their implementation. With experience overseeing a complex and diverse portfolio, catering to a similarly diverse and complex student body, the Vice President is committed to supporting student success and well-being both on and off campus. You are well suited for and experienced in leading large teams and working closely with community and a wide variety of stakeholders. Your years of experience are augmented by a masters degree in a relevant discipline.
