Assiniboine’s two-year Agribusiness program combines agriculture, technology and business for an in-depth education in one of Canada’s largest industries. We provide students with the big picture, with hands-on learning through labs, field trips and projects, and a dynamic, student-focused atmosphere of small classes and experienced faculty.
We are looking for a passionate instructor who is outstanding in their field, who can teach a variety of courses including agricultural economics, commodity risk management, and agribusiness planning. You will be a professional ready to contribute to producing quality programs that are responsive to Manitoba’s labour market.
You will deliver highly interactive, hands-on classes where student success is the goal. You will be an engaging and forward-thinking instructor, who embraces our “learn by doing” philosophy while providing leadership and mentorship to students.
To deliver results, you will have post-secondary education (Masters preferred) in agribusiness or agricultural economics or a closely related discipline. Registration or eligibility to register as a Professional Agrologist in the Province of Manitoba is required. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary faculty in horticulture, sustainable foods, environmental technologies, agribusiness and culinary arts, as well as with other stakeholders in the community and the province. Post-secondary teaching experience, including curriculum development, is an asset.
The position offers opportunities to pursue research, public service, and extension activities in a variety of environments. Experience or evidence of ability to pursue an applied research program is an asset.
