Located on more than 200 acres in the beautiful Bay of Quinte region, Loyalist College is a close-knit community where students and their success come first. Reporting to the Senior Vice-President Academic, the Dean, School of Applied Science, Skills and Technology is accountable for contributing to the academic well-being and growth of the School and for providing academic and administrative leadership, supervision, support and direction to all faculty and staff in the school. The Dean is accountable for the planning, development, maintenance and ongoing quality review of the technology, skills and applied science full-time and part-time post-secondary programming offered within the School ensuring that the standards conform to external accreditation and licensing requirements relevant and responsive to the needs of students and the community while aligning with the College’s strategic objectives. The Dean is also responsible for the applied research participation within the School, and is accountable for the fiscal management of the school, development of budgets and capital requests.
As the ideal candidate, you are a visionary and strategic leader, experienced in the leadership of individuals from diverse industries and disciplines within applied science, skilled trades and technology. In combination with a graduate degree in Engineering, Technology, Applied Science or a related discipline, you have a blend of industry and academic leadership experience, an appreciation for the technical and skilled trades, and a strong belief in the value and importance of the College sector. Your positive outlook, engaging manner and collaborative style allows you to lead effectively in a collegial environment. You also have a track record of building productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, enabling you to maintain and develop the institutional, community-focused, and industry-related partnerships essential to the School’s success. Willing to take a hands-on approach, you are able to lead the School in a rapidly changing environment as it builds on its many strengths.
