Executive Management Director, International Education

Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, the Director, International Education provides overall leadership to align with the University’s Integrated Plan to meet international student enrollment goals. The Director also provides overall leadership in the development of an International Education office as a gateway to global engagement, participation and influence, working collaboratively with faculty, administrative units, and external partners to create an internationally progressive learning, research, and community service environment. The office will focus on recruiting international students to UNBC; current students who are international students in Canada or studying at UNBC; going global, where opportunities are offered for UNBC students interested in study, field schools, or work abroad programs; global education, where opportunities are offered for students and staff to engage in world issues, challenges, and solutions through a lens of global citizenship. This is a key leadership role in representing UNBC nationally and internationally, ensuring outcomes to strengthen UNBC’s competitive and financial position.
As the ideal candidate, you: take an enthusiastic, passionate, creative, and collaborative approach to international education; bring significant experience in international education leadership and management, international student services, and international marketing and recruitment strategies; have comprehensive knowledge of Canada’s post-secondary education environment and the field of international education, and working knowledge of a variety of cultures in both education and business contexts; have excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills, including team building, conflict resolution, and creative, collaborative problem-solving skills; have outstanding business acumen that has contributed to your success in revenue generation; and have a graduate degree in a relevant field and experience in a unionized environment.
