Executive Management Director of Student Success
Located on more than 200 acres in the beautiful Bay of Quinte region, Loyalist College is a close-knit community where students and their success come first. Its Belleville and Bancroft campuses support programs and services for close to 3,000 full-time and 12,000 part-time students each year. To prepare students for in-demand careers, Loyalist offers more than 65 full-time programs; apprenticeships; and hundreds of online, distance and in-class courses, as well as opportunities for continuing education through university transfer agreements.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Academic, the Director, Student Success provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategy, policies and services designed to support and enhance student recruitment and retention activities and student engagement in college life. The Director is a primary advocate and advisor for the delivery of services to enhance student success and for issues relating to student rights and responsibilities and the provision of accommodations for students with disabilities. Areas of responsibility include: Student Success mentors; academic/career/personal counselling; AccessAbility services; and Peer services and Testing Centre services. The Director demonstrates a supportive and innovative student focused approach to the enhancement and delivery of student services, and also provides expert advice to college management and community partners on issues pertaining to student rights and threat/risk assessment interventions, as well as learner centred facilities, services and practices.
As the ideal candidate, you are a collaborative change leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of working with internal and external stakeholders in a post-secondary setting. Your Master’s degree, preferably in Education, Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline, combined with your 10 years of progressive leadership experience in student services, student success and/or student development has equipped you with a knowledge of best practices in the delivery of student services with a customer service approach. You are able to lead teams, mentor and coach others, develop and manage strategic priorities and set and meet project plans and deadlines. You are committed to supporting equity, diversity and inclusion and have a reputation of integrity, trust and credibility. Above all, you bring a passion and capacity for working with students, and a strong belief in the value and importance of the College sector.
