Faculty Full time Instructor, Education
Medicine Hat College’s Division of Arts, Education & Business invites applications for the position of Education Instructor commencing July 1, 2018. This is a full-time position and subject to successful completion of a two-year probationary term, will be a continuous appointment.
The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses within both the University Transfer Education program and our Bachelor of Education degree completion partnership program. In addition, there will be responsibilities for working with pre-service teacher education students in tutorial settings as well as for the supervision of practicum students in classrooms in local school jurisdictions.
This position will include senior courses in the following:
- Social Studies Curriculum and Instruction
- Educational Technology
- Graduate coursework in these disciplines is required; interest in other aspects of learning and schooling will be considered an asset.
- Doctorate degree in Education is required.
- Knowledge of current pedagogy and trends in education along with a passion for and interest in scholarly activity and scholarship is essential.
- Applicants should have recent teaching experience at the elementary or secondary school level and a demonstrated commitment to pre-service teacher education.
