Since 1967, Confederation College has been serving the citizens of northwestern Ontario with a main campus in Thunder Bay, and regional campuses in the communities of Dryden, Geraldton, Fort Frances, Kenora, Marathon, Red Lake, Sioux Lookout and Wawa. Confederation offers 58 full-time programs in 11 areas of study to a community of 7,200 combined full-time, part-time and international diverse student learners. It is within this context that Confederation College is seeking its new President.
The President will work with the senior administration team, faculty, staff and students to continue to promote the collaborative spirit and excellence that has shaped Confederation’s history. The President will work closely with the Board to build and implement the strategic direction of the College, always being mindful of the impact of these decisions on faculty, staff, students and the local communities. The President will also continue to build on the College’s prominent leadership presence in the community through enhancing Indigenous programming, strategic enrolment management, technology development and partnerships with key stakeholders and partners.
The ideal candidate is a proven and successful senior leader with a track record of strategic and collaborative senior management experience within a complex, large and unionized environment, who preferably holds a graduate level degree. You have an in-depth understanding of how to navigate relationships with all three levels of government. You have a proven ability to successfully inspire, lead and collaborate with others to achieve strategic goals and a future vision. A superior communicator with strong engagement and listening skills, you are action-oriented and have a passion for the continued improvement of the student experience. The President must have excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, and a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion and to Indigenous peoples.
