Senior Vice President, Strategy, Communications & Advancement

St. Lawrence College is seeking a dynamic and creative professional as its new Senior Vice President, Strategy, Communications and Advancement (The position is based in Kingston, ON – with tri-campus responsibility).

Reporting to the President, the Senior Vice President will lead and manage a core professional team in the creation and execution of initiatives in the areas of strategic enrolment management, corporate planning, corporate communications, government relations, registrar services, marketing, student recruitment and fundraising/development. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, the SVP will lead the overall strategic and business planning process of the College.

 

The SVP will provide professional communications expertise and support to the President, Senior Team and the Board of Governors to develop and execute integrated communications, marketing, community relations and community engagement strategies to advance the College’s vision and mission. The SVP will proactively identify plans, engage and respond to opportunities for growth by ensuring the College maintains high visibility and reputation locally, nationally and internationally. In collaboration with the academic division and other senior staff, the SVP will provide leadership in the college Strategic Enrolment Management process, and the College’s domestic student recruitment program to ensure consistency of brand and alignment with College values and services to enhance student enrolment. Additionally, the SVP will strategically champion robust community engagement, and provide leadership to the development of alumni and development plans and the development and execution of a campaign strategy featuring innovative ways to engage alumni and the donor community.

 

The ideal candidate will possess relevant credentials, along with progressive senior leadership and management experience from either the public or private sectors – encompassing strategic and operational responsibility for a combination of corporate strategy and business planning, marketing, corporate communications, and integrated reputation and brand management functions. Experience with student enrolment management and fund raising donor relations would be an asset. The incumbent will provide leadership with a “big picture”, strategic orientation inside a creative, innovative, collegial, collaborative yet decisive, results-oriented and accountable environment. The candidate will have possess excellent team leadership and consultative management skills – along with a proven track record of translating market intelligence and data into strategies, business plans, outcomes and results. Excellent communication, interpersonal, project- and change-management skills, along with social media literacy and fluency are essential.

 

The salary range for this role is $142,935 – $190,580 (Salary band 17). The compensation package includes a performance-based incentive program and a comprehensive benefit package. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
