Salary Range: $71,908 – $91,086 per year

In support of student success, Assiniboine has created an exciting new position to support accessibility and inclusion for our students and to develop faculty and staff awareness of accessibility.
You are passionate about student success and are energized about working with a diverse student body with a range of support needs. You will provide leadership for Accessibility and Disability Services for the college. Your experience with and passion for disability services will help to provide guidance and leadership to our Student Success Advisors, Learning Commons staff and college personnel on their approach to student accommodations.
Your experience with universal instructional design and with disability services and accommodation in a post-secondary environment will enable you to provide leadership and professional development to the college. You will develop new policies and procedures, transition programs, and supports to assist students transitioning to college. Your experience and creativity in student disability services will be instrumental in ensuring accessibility practices and procedures are current. You are a person who has the ability to take charge, but are able to be a part of the greater disability services team. Collaboration with colleagues is imperative as you will be looked to for your expertise and you must be able to train and pass along that expertise in a concerted way.
In order to deliver the results required, you must have a graduate degree in a relevant field with a minimum of five years’ experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting, preferably in post-secondary. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of universal instructional design and have experience identifying accurate accommodations through medical assessment and psycho-educational testing. You will have experience in group facilitation and classroom presentations. Regular travel to provincial satellite campuses will be required.
