We require a qualified individual to develop and deliver professional development resources and learning opportunities primarily for Conestoga faculty with a key focus on supporting faculty with intercultural communication skills and intercultural teaching skill development as Conestoga welcomes increasingly diverse students.

Note: Evenings and weekends are required occasionally and the successful applicant may be asked to facilitate a residential component for faculty requiring three yearly overnight stays away from the college.



  • Develop online resources and new face-to-face workshops to support both just in time and ongoing development of faculty in the area of support for intercultural teaching and international students
  • Create services and resources for programs with large cohorts of International students
  • Create best practice videos, blog, guides, rubrics, as well as, customized coaching, workshops and consultations
  • Develop and deliver dynamic workshops and other in-person learning opportunities for faculty at all campuses (e.g. class management, evaluation, reading circle, teaching squares, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, coordinators, Chairs, the International Office, and other college stakeholders to identify common learning needs and develop appropriate workshops and resources
  • Work with the Associate Director, Teaching and Learning on a variety of professional development initiatives in support of teaching and learning processes
  • Develop and co-deliver on boarding activities for Conestoga faculty (both full and part-time) including delivery of new faculty orientation workshops, creation and updating of new faculty on boarding resources and conducting teaching observations
  • Act as a teaching practice expert to provide theoretical and/or applied direction and advice on a wide variety of topics to faculty and Chairs
  • Remain current with teaching practices and procedures by teaching one course per year at Conestoga (the course will enhance the individual’s knowledge of delivery methods (e.g. on-line, hybrid, etc.) or be an opportunity to develop real life examples of good practice they can share with faculty)




  • Master’s degree with a focus on adult education, intercultural studies or a related field
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of teaching within many forms of diversity
  • Seven years of relevant experience
  • Preferred candidate will have previous experience leading “teacher education” and experience with technology-enhanced teaching practices
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Substantial experience teaching international students and/or demonstrable intercultural skills
  • Ability to respond to attendee challenges during delivery and to facilitate difficult conversations
  • High knowledge level of all aspects of the teaching and learning process
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and document creation skills with the ability to create accessible educational materials
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Coaching, consultation and planning skills
  • Good working knowledge of learning management systems
  • High skill level in all aspects of outcomes-based post-secondary education process (e.g. curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, evaluation, active learning, etc.)
