Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) is creating a new future and is ready to welcome a key leader, a Vice President Administration, into the fold to join us in this exciting endeavour.

GPRC’s student enrollment is on the rise; we are on the verge of going live with our largest fundraising campaign, our National Bee Diagnostic Center is expanding, Continuing Education is reaching new learners, and soon our High Performance Fitness Centre will be up and running. All of this while we continue to pursue our communities’ goal of becoming a degree-granting institution.

GPRC employs over 450 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees and administers an annual budget over $75 million. Beside wages and compensation, the College spends over $25 million to support its day-to-day operations. The net impact of College payroll and expenses in the GPRC Service Area during an analysis year (2011-2012) was approximately $56 million in added regional income.

GPRC is seeking a Vice-President, Administration to play a vital role in GPRC’s success. Acting as the Chief Financial Officer, change champion, strategic planner, and a member of the Executive Council, you will lead a significant administrative portfolio which includes 60 full-time employees and has responsibility for a budget of over $75 million. The Vice-President, Administration will aid in delivering our 2018-2021 Comprehensive Institutional Plan (CIP) and Annual Report.


Candidates with a proven mind for financials, strong asset management skills, and confirmed leadership skills that align with our values – Student-Centred, Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Passion – are encouraged to express their interest.

Given the amount of change, both internally to GPRC and provincially, that is expected to occur in the next few years, GPRC is seeking an individual who has proven their success leading complex organizational change. It is critical that the successful candidate be able to build strong relationship and demonstrate strength in communicating both internally and externally. The College seeks a candidate that values staff engagement and recognizes the need for strategic planning across all functions of the institution.

GPRC is seeking an individual with a Master’s degree in Business, or a related area, combined with seven years of senior leadership experience in the public sector. Preference will be given to candidates who have a CPA designation.
