Description

Come join a community of thinkers, creators, and champions reimagining tomorrow’s workforce.

The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is a polytechnic institute in Calgary, Alberta, with a vision to become a global leader in applied education. Building on its 100+ year history SAIT continues to reimagine the workforce of tomorrow and continues to train hit-the-ground-ready, future-proofed graduates.

The School for Advanced Digital Technologies (SADT) offers a wide range of tech-focused programs designed to equip students with the skills and abilities needed to support tech-driven businesses across all industries, from energy and financial services to health care and beyond.

Reporting to the Vice President Academic, the role of the Dean is to provide leadership with SAIT’s School for Advanced Digital Technology (SADT). Critical to this is the development and delivery of programming that prepares SAIT’s learners with the technical and life skills and knowledge required for success in the workplace. Strong leadership qualities are essential, with a proven track record of strategic thinking and effective decision-making.

As the ideal candidate, you are an innovative big-picture thinker able to develop and articulate a strategic vision for the school.  You are an excellent relationship builder able to establish and maintain contacts with industry leaders, industry associations, and professional groups to proactively promote and enhance SAIT’s reputation. You bring 5 years of experience in a relevant industry and 7 years of leadership experience in a large complex organization, preferably in a post-secondary education environment.  A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is required. A Ph.D. is preferred.

SAIT is committed to equity and diversity within its community and especially welcomes applications from women, racialized persons/persons of colour, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons of all sexual orientations and genders.  All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
